Details

More information

Zoysia Japonica grass (also called Japanese grass) has great success in hot and dry regions, such as southern Spain.

Zoysia Japonica is very resistant and requires very little watering and also supports salty air.

Sowing: 500 g = 50 m2 of land and very rapid expansion.

Characteristics and benefits of Zoysia Japonica grass

  • It is a perennial plant   and invasive of the Poaceae family.
  • These seeds of Zoysia Japonica are produced by the company Batlle (one of the world leaders in grass seeds in Spain).

It has 3 main advantages

  • ECOLOGICAL and ECONOMIC = little mowing and little irrigation.

The Zoysia maintains a magnificent green appearance even during the summer without even watering regularly.

Note: However, it should be watered frequently at the beginning (the first weeks after planting).

  • RESISTANCE TO HEAT AND SALT AIR from the seashore.

Zoysia is from Asia. A lawn that remains green even during a period of drought because roots and rhizomes sink 20 to 50 cm in the soil to make the water farther than the more "standard" grass.

This variety also supports the salty sea air.

  • LIMIT BAD HERBS:

The first year, Zoysia grows slowly and with the risk of being invaded by weeds and could replace it, it is a normal process, since over time Zoysia invades every field.

This lawn is very nice, being provided with powerful rhizomes that form a soft, green carpet.

More characteristic details of this type of Zoysia Japónica seed:

  • Type of foliage: semi-persistent.
  • Height: narrow, elongated leaves up to 20 cm high.
  • Exposure: full sun to partial shade.
  • Type of soil: slightly sandy clay and even limestone.
  • Acidity of the soil: slightly acidic to neutral.
  • Use: Lawn, Massif, Embankments, Landscaped Gardens.
  • Variety that is not fragile and resistant to footsteps.
  • It yellows in winter but leaves easily when summer temperatures return.
  • Support up to - 15 ° C.
  • It can be maintained with 4-5 cuts per year.

When and how to sow ZOYSIA JAPANICA:

Sow between April and June on hot ground (fall planting is not recommended).

Sowing: 500 g. = 50 m2 (+ or - 10% depending on the person who sows). Given its rapid expansion.

Sow "on the fly" on prepared ground. Wax and spread after sowing and water regularly until growing south for 15 to 20 days.

Weight = 500 g +/- 5%.

Cordialement
