Italian coffee maker (1933)
Main article: Moka pot
The Italian or mocha coffee maker consists of two bodies that are screwed together in the central part. The lower part is the water tank, which has a safety valve on one side and where a funnel-shaped filter is placed with the coffee. The upper part is the tank that will receive the brewed coffee. Boiling water releases steam, which increases the pressure inside the tank, causing the water to rise through the filter tube through the ground coffee, extracting its essence and flavour. When it reaches the top, it comes out through a small perforated tower at the top to prevent the brewed coffee from going back, and it stays there until all the coffee has come out. They are usually made of aluminum or stainless steel. A rather fine regular coffee is used. It is a comfortable, fast and easy way to prepare espresso coffee. Works on stovetop burners at moderate heat
