The Pyrex brand was founded in 1887 with the birth of borosilicate glass. Pyrex glass is unique. It is of superior quality and has excellent resistance to mechanical shock. It adapts perfectly to extreme temperatures and withstands thermal shocks of up to 220º.
In 1887 the German glassmaker Otto Schott discovered that the addition of boron oxide to the composition of glass makes it highly resistant to thermal shock. In 1915, Bessie Littleton created the brand. Her long experience with broken or cracked dishes after a single cooking in the oven leads her to ask her husband for the bottoms of the laboratory Nonex containers to test the cooking.
In 1922 the production of Pyrex glass crossed the Atlantic and was established in France. In 1930 Pyrex created a wide range of hygienic glass products, resistant to boiling water, flames, alcohol and chemical agents.
In 1936 comes the success of the bottle, a great revolution in this world. In 1948, electricity arrived in the kitchen, revolutionizing cooking. In 1985 the first range of glass products for freezer storage is launched.
Between 2004 and 2010 they manufactured a large number of new products available in metal, ceramic and stainless steel. Between 2008 and 2014 there was a geographical expansion and they continue to advance to this day.
