ETYMOLOGY
Old Latin name used by Virgil and Pliny, and from the Greek "taxus", poison, for its poisonous properties.
SUBSCRIBER
From spring to mid-autumn with MISTRAL NUTRIBONSAI organic or liquid fertilizer. Subscribing should be stopped in extremely hot summer periods.
TRANSPLANT
Every 3 to 5 years, at the beginning of spring.
SUBSTRATUM
100% Akadama, or mixed with 20% volcanic gravel; or, failing that, TERRABONSAI de MISTRAL. After transplanting, it is advisable to water with a MISTRAL VITABONSAI solution, to accelerate the tree's recovery.
PRUNING
In winter, always leaving leaves and buds, otherwise the branch may dry out.
GRIPPING
In spring, sticking out with the fingers, breaking the growing buds.

September to March. Situation: Outside, in full sun all year round.
Irrigation: abundantly in summer and moderately in winter.
Curiosities: Yew is a very long-lived tree, of which we can find specimens of more than 1,000 years. Its wood is very hard and compact, but at the same time very elastic and flexible. Formerly used to make bows.
