Etymology
From the Latin "Oleum", oil.
Situation
In an outdoor Mediterranean climate zone, in full sun all year round. Outside of its natural climatic zone, it is convenient to protect it from extreme cold and especially from frost (temperatures below zero for more than 24 hours). Despite this, it requires a sharp drop in temperatures between 5 and 7 ºC during the winter.
Irrigation
The olive tree has a minimal water consumption.

From April to October.
Transplant
Keep in mind that the olive tree is a tree that grows very slowly; thus, its root mass also develops little by little. If the subscriber and the substrate are adequate, the tree will not need to be transplanted until after about 3 or even 5 years.

Curiosities
The olive tree is one of the few trees that we can model in most bonsai styles, including deadwood ones. If you have the opportunity to visit us, a few km from our facilities you will be able to see some thousand-year-old olive trees live, such as Lo Parot; in Horta de Sant Joan.
