SUBSCRIBER

From spring to mid-autumn with organic or liquid compost. Subscribing should be stopped in extremely hot summer periods.

TRANSPLANT

They are transplanted every three to four years, in early spring.

SUBSTRATUM

A mixture of 6 parts of Akadama, with 4 parts of volcanic soil; or, failing that, TERRABONSAI by Mistral Bonsai.

PRUNING

Pruning is recommended in late winter. Responds very well to pruning.

GRIPPING

Throughout the growing season we can pinch to compact its crown and to achieve a denser flowering.

WIRING

The wiring in this species must be practiced with care, since its branches can be fragile, in addition to presenting some thorns. It is advisable to combine pruning and selection of branches with wiring. Situation: In areas with a Mediterranean climate it can live outdoors during the summer months, the rest of the year protect from the cold. In colder areas, it should be kept in a greenhouse all year round.

Watering: The surface layer of the pot's soil must be allowed to dry slightly between watering and watering. In winter hardly water. Avoid excess water but being careful not to go thirsty in summer.

Curiosities: It attracts butterflies, and birds love those yellow fruits that grow in the center of lilac tubular flowers.
