Technical Characteristics:
Situation: It should be grown outdoors throughout the year, in full sun, but avoiding prolonged exposures during the hottest season, properly controlling irrigation, since this way we will achieve a healthy growth, with a much larger and leafy branching.
Watering: Moderate in spring and autumn and abundant in summer.
Curiosities: The name of the genus Prunus comes from the Latin "prunum" which means plum, which in turn comes from the Greek "proûnos, proûnum", the name of a wild plum tree in Theophrastus. By extension, other stone fruits were called prunus.
Family: Rosaceae
Subscriber: Fertilize frequently, especially during the vigorous growth season
Transplant: It should be transplanted every 1 or 2 years while be young
Substrate: Regarding the substrate, we recommend Terrabonsai. A substrate specially developed by Mistral Bonsai technicians. Help keep your tree healthy, with the necessary moisture retention and correct drainage for its development.
Pinching: The pinching can be done at any time of the year except in the flowering season.
Pruning: Pruning is recommended when the bonsai is devoid of leaves. 2 leaf buds are usually left. Leaf buds are thicker and more oval than flower buds.
Wiring: The wiring should be done either in the spring or in the fall. In spring if a large branch should be folded. In autumn there is still sap circulation, it can be wired and position small or secondary branches.
*Observations: The shape and measurements of the bonsai are approximate. The color and shape of the pot may vary from the photo. Remember that a bonsai is a living being, so the images that appear are representative.
