Technical Characteristics:

  • Location: Prefers a sunny location throughout the year. They resist frost well, although it is advisable to protect them from temperatures below -2ºC.
  • Irrigation: Abundantly in summer and moderately in winter. During flowering, care must be taken not to wet the flowers.
  • Curiosities: During twilight is when its flower, the orange blossom, gives off its pleasant smell, since its pollinating insects are active at that time of day. Good example of symbiosis.
  • Family: Rutaceae
  • Fertilization: It is done from Spring to Autumn, it is not recommended to pay during flowering and it is necessary to enhance the fertilizer during fruiting.
  • Transplant: It is recommended every 2 years, at the end of winter, beginning of spring
  • Picking will be done when the stem has reached 4 to 6 pairs of leaves
  • Wiring: It should be done throughout the year, but taking care in spring, when growth is very fast

Curiosities: We can help its fruiting by interspersing different species of orange trees and manually pollinating : applying pollen from a flower to the stigma.

*Observations: The shape and measurements of the bonsai are approximate. The color and shape of the pot may vary from the photo. Remember that a bonsai is a living being, so the images that appear are representative.
