There are several factors that influence plant growth. The climate, the season, the biorhythm... For this reason, it is essential to plant at the ideal time to achieve profitable harvests. In our Brycus tips we will give you tips on which plants to plant at a certain time of year. In addition, in Brycus you will find all the types of seeds you may need to enjoy a fruitful garden.
Normally we plant in our garden according to our preferred diet, however, sometimes the fruits obtained are not as expected. This happens because many plants are susceptible to certain temperatures and climatic factors. It is advisable to plant vegetables that are suitable for the climate or temperature of the moment, for such action, we must define an agenda for our plants. This will allow us to save water, avoid pests of certain seasons, obtain more robust fruits and enjoy a variety of additional advantages.
Summer
This season is one where plants require excessive water consumption to stay healthy, even some plants can't stand the high summer temperatures. Therefore, in our Brycus tips we recommend you to plant heat resistant and low water consumption vegetables. Carrots, chards, radishes and endive are perfect for this season. Cabbages, broccoli and cauliflowers also grow optimally in the summer.
Late winter and spring
During this season, temperate climate plants are ideal. Potatoes, leeks, beans, carrots and cucumbers grow healthy. In contrast, celery, tomatoes, melons and watermelons grow easily, but require some care if there is excess moisture. This season you can also plant endive, aubergines, chard and courgettes.
Autumn and early winter
It is a season where experts recommend planting celery, spinach, beans and peas. During this season, care is minimal and the plants grow healthy.
Another important factor in expanding your plant schedule is to include planting and maintenance dates according to the lunar calendar. In this way, once you have defined the plants that you will plant in a certain season, you will be able to establish special dates that will contribute to their growth. The gravitational force that the moon exerts when it approaches or moves away from the earth significantly influences the transfer of sap through the plant. Similarly, the phases of the moon affect important processes such as photosynthesis and the germination of seeds. Agronomy experts say that during the crescent and full moon phases plants concentrate large amounts of sap on their tops. During the new and waning moon, on the other hand, the sap is usually concentrated in the roots of the plants.
It is advisable to plant the plants that produce their fruit or edible part on the ground between the new moon and the crescent moon. This is also a good time to apply liquid fertilizers, pruning and grafting, as a greater flow of sap produces new growth more quickly. Only the plants that produce their edible part underground should be planted between the waning quarter and the new moon, at this time the flow of sap is reduced, focusing the energy towards the roots of the plant, which is ideal for growing plants that live for more than two years. Similarly, it is the right time to apply solid fertilizer, prune plants and harvest, having the advantage that there is less chance of rotting.
At Brycus you will find all the types of seeds you want to create your own crop. Make sure you know which moon is the most favorable for your plant.
