They are characterized by being simple, practical and very versatile. These, in turn, can be chrome-plated, very useful in archives, hospitals and homes, or slotted angles perfect for archives, offices and storage rooms.

Although some components are exclusive for some shelves, it is true that they all share common elements:

• Racks: They are the vertical metallic structure composed of the diagonals and the lateral struts. Its sides are joined together by a bolted lattice.

• Struts: are metal elements that are part of the frame structure. They vary in size depending on the weight and size of the load for which the rack is to be used.

• Diagonals: They are used to join the uprights together diagonally, forming the frame structure. In addition, they are the part of the racks responsible for guaranteeing the stability of the shelf. 

• Beams: are the horizontal metal structures and it is on them that the shelves are supported where the merchandise will later go.

• Shelves: are the structure, made of wood or metal, on which the merchandise is placed. It is also known as shelves.

• Locking system: it is responsible for reinforcing the safety of the racking, preventing the beam from coming loose or being extracted, thus improving the stability of the racking.

When we are going to choose a metal shelving for the garage or storage room, there are certain details that we must take into account. Generally, the shelves that are used in these places are for storing heavy things. Therefore, if there is something that should characterize them, it is their resistance and durability. That is why it is preferred that most of it, at least of its frame, be made of metallic structures.
