Measures for the reopening of the community pools during the Covid-19

June 8, 2020

The coronavirus crisis is gradually spreading and, with it, the establishments are gradually opening their doors and the fear of leaving home is also disappearing. Now there are only doubts left to be resolved, above all, doubts about the use of the communal swimming pools as the heat and the summer are just around the corner.

Today, at Brycus advices, we will solve all the doubts about the use of the communal pools during this hard time.

According to the order SND/414/2020 published on 16th May, all provinces that are currently in phase 2 of de-climbing will be able to reopen their pools following a series of guidelines and safety measures. But, if you don't trust your community pool, you can get your own for personal use, just visit our section of detachable pools and choose the one you like best.

But, what are the measures that the Government has imposed to reopen these pools? Let us tell you at Brycus tips.

1) Limited seating and appointment only.As you know, one of the first measures taken by the Government was to distance the pool by 2 meters in any activity. But how can this distance be maintained in a facility that is always full of people enjoying themselves? The solution lies in a maximum capacity of 30% of the pool. And, to facilitate this control, users who wish to enjoy a day at the pool must make an appointment in advance to use the facilities. However, it is the residents' association that is responsible for drawing up schedules and shifts for the use of the pool, and it will be the job of the lifeguards to ensure that the capacity measures are complied with and that there are no crowds to protect the health of the residents.

2) Safety distance. As we have seen in supermarkets and cafeterias, the distribution of the furniture has been modified so that customers can maintain a safe distance from each other. In the same way it should be done in the communal swimming pools: the different areas should have a marked distribution to guarantee a safe space between the neighbours. And it will be your turn to maintain this distance and respect the space of the rest by making sure that all your belongings are within the perimeter assigned to them. Likewise, all access and exit routes to the facilities must be signposted.

3) Disinfection of common areas. The last measure affects the hygiene and cleanliness of the premises, which must be carried out, now more than ever, on a daily basis. Before the opening of the swimming pool, the enclosure must be cleaned and disinfected with a solution of water and bleach. In addition, special attention should be paid to common areas such as doorknobs or gates, which should be disinfected at least three times a day. Finally, attention should be paid to toilets and changing rooms which, although they may remain open for use by neighbours, should be disinfected daily and contain soap or hydroalcoholic liquid for the hygiene of users.

These are the measures that the Government has imposed so that citizens can continue to enjoy the summer and the swimming pools without putting their health at risk. However, if your community does not have a swimming pool, you can always set up your own on your balcony. How? Visit our section of detachable pools and choose the one you like best. But remember that safety measures apply to all pools.
