The world is currently going through the biggest health crisis in history. An infectious disease caused by the coronavirus has taken over the health of millions of citizens around the world.

COVID-19 is a virus that affects the respiratory tract with conditions ranging from the common cold to more serious problems such as the Middle East Respiratory Syndrome (MERS) and Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS).

The prevention campaign in social networks #stayhome, which has gained strength in social networks, seeks to raise awareness among the population about the importance of following the correct guidelines to prevent the spread of this virus, and thus preserve our health and that of all people around us.

Everything you need to know about Coronavirus (Prevention)
How is the Coronavirus transmitted?

Transmission is caused by direct contact with respiratory secretions from a sick person.

When an infected person coughs or sneezes, they release small droplets that can reach the mouth, eyes or nose of those around them. There is little chance of airborne transmission over distances greater than one meter.

Take action and protect yourself

We have compiled the best Brycus tips to prevent the coronavirus and keep it away from your home and family:

Wash your hands very often

Wash your hands with soap and water for 20 seconds. If you are on the street and don't havesoap and water, use an antibacterial that contains more than 60% alcohol.

Be sure to cover the back of your hands, the space between your fingers, and under your nails. Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth with your hands without washing your hands first.

To prevent infection, you should wash your hands at the following times:

● After coughing, sneezing or blowing your nose

● After visiting public places, such as transport and markets.

● After handling money.

● During the care of a sick person.

Avoid close contact

Older adults and people with chronic conditions should maintain a safe distance, if the virus is present in their community. When you are sick, it is best to stay home, but if you need to go out and get medical help, take steps to avoid spreading the virus to others:

● Wear a mask when you are surrounded by others, in a vehicle, at home or at a health care facility. If it causes difficulty breathing, cover your nose and mouth when you cough or sneeze, you can do so with a tissue or the inside of your elbow. Throw away any tissues you have used in the trash.

● Caregivers should wear a mask while in contact.

Those who are not infected should avoid close contact with sick people. When going out or being at home, they do not need to wear a mask, unless they are caring for a person who is sick with the virus. This point is very important, we must be cautious, but conscious in the purchase of masks, doing it in an irresponsible way will leave those who really need them without a mask.

Disinfect

Clean frequently used surfaces every day such as: tables, countertops, railings, desks, handles, light switches, telephones and taps. It is suggested to wash them with water and soap before applying any disinfectant solution. Take note of these Brycus tips for disinfecting:

Chlorine solution

Mix 4 tablespoons (1/3 cup) of chlorine bleach in one quart of water. Follow the manufacturer's instructions for application and ventilate the site properly. Do not combine chlorine with any ammonia product and watch the expiration date of the bleach you have chosen.

Alcohol solution

The market offers different alternatives of products with alcohol for disinfecting objects. The important thing is that in its composition it has more than 60% alcohol.

Take care of your family by following these guidelines and help health professionals with the #stayhome initiative.
