Grass Seeds Batlle Kikuyo Grass thick 100 g to 1 kg

Kikuyo turf (also known as "Pennisetum clandestinum") is a phenomenal success in hot and dry regions such as the south of France !

The kikuyo is resistant and requires very little watering and also supports salty air. 

Features and benefits of kikuyo turf:

- Kikuyo turf is of subtropical origin and is therefore used to extreme heat and drought conditions. 

Very limited watering needs! (However, it should be watered frequently after sowing during the first few weeks).

Kikuyo turf retains a beautiful green appearance even in the middle of summer while being less watered than other varieties.  

- Yellowed in winter but easily restarts as soon as summer temperatures return.

- These Kikuyo seeds are produced by Batlle (one of the world's leading lawn seed companies).

Warning: There is a "fake kikuyo" called "Buffalo grass" or "Saint-Augustin grass". Variety less resistant to drought and trampling than Pennisetum clandestinum than this product Batlle!

- Resists trampling.

Very pleasant, this herb is equipped with powerful rhizomes that form a soft and green carpet.

- The growth of a kikuyo lawn is a little slow in the first year, which initially favours the development of weeds. But then kikuyo monopolizes the entire land.

How to sow :

Sow between April and the end of June on warmed soil (Autumn sowing is not recommended).

1 kg = 80 to 120 m2 depending on the person who sows the seed.

1) Turn your land over to a depth of about 20 cm and remove stones, roots and weeds.

2) Break the clods of soil on the surface with a rake and roll the soil to a flat surface.

3) Sow the Kikuyo seeds on dry ground, by hand or with a seed drill by crossing the passages.

4) Lightly bury the seeds with a rake and roll again.

5) Water regularly in fine rain during the entire lawn establishment period. 

6) The first mowing must be done as soon as the lawn reaches 10 cm by setting the mower to the highest cutting height.
