SUBSCRIBER

From spring to mid-autumn with MISTRAL NUTRIBONSAI organic or liquid fertilizer, applied every two weeks using irrigation water.

TRANSPLANT

Every two years in spring.

SUBSTRATUM

Akadama 100% or mixed with 20% volcanic gravel (Pouzzolane). After transplanting, it is advisable to water with a MISTRAL VITABONSAI solution, to accelerate the recovery of the tree

PRUNING

Pruning, after flowering, we will do it on the long branches. We must always keep in mind to leave two buds near the base of the branch, which are leafy (which will develop as new branches). We will differentiate these from the flower ones, since the latter are more voluminous and rounded, unlike the former, which are smaller and more pointed. If we do not do so, we will lose that branch.

GRIPPING

The pinching is carried out when the new branches have developed about 15 cm, (April-May) by pinching them with the fingers, leaving 4 or 5 leaves. Likewise, we will remove the 2 or 3 leaves from the base of the branch (June), which will cause the formation of leaf buds at those points, which will be the ones that will form new branches next year, otherwise everything will be buds of flower and we will lose that branch.

WIRING

May Situation: Prefers outdoor areas, in full sun throughout the year, thus favoring abundant flowering. Although it supports the cold well, in winter it is advisable to protect it from intense cold and strong frosts.

Irrigation: abundantly in summer and moderately in winter.

Curiosities: In Arabic Mahlab means "cherry"
